Topshop Crayons | Ramble & Sun Shower

I've heard great things about Topshop's make-up collections, however, I don't own many items from there as the Topshop in my home town doesn't have a make-up counter! They only sell the nail polishes which is disappointing as I always want to check out their blushers and lipsticks. Also I like to swatch make-up before I buy it; I never buy cosmetics online unless I've tried them before because you can never be sure about the colour and there's always the risk of it smashing and we don't want that. But luckily the Topshop store in my university town has a huge make-up counter so I can now add these two eye crayons to my small collection.

I found these crayons in the sale section for just £1 each! Now that's what I call an amazing bargain! They are really easy to apply as they are highly pigmented and smooth, and can be smudged out to create an eye shadow. The brown crayon called Ramble is great to wear on it's own and also can be added to a smoky brown eye to add more depth and sparkle. And of course the gold shade, Sun Shower, is super bright and can be used to line the top of the eyes to make them stand out! They are long-lasting and are a great alternative to using eye shadows as you can achieve a fun party look in the matter of minutes.

I Thrift

Hey guys <3

I'm always going into charity/vintage shops in hope of finding something really unique and cheap, however, nothing has stood out to me in recent months. It's so exciting when you bag yourself a bargain especially a vintage find, however it's disappointing when you go on a regular basis and always see the same clothes and trinkets. From my experience of volunteering at a charity shop I know it's a long process to get the clothes ready for the shop floor as you have to do all the steaming, tagging and labelling by hand, so the stock is not changed regularly. However if you look hard enough and maybe rummage to the bottom of a basket you probably will find something you like, so I did that and here's what I found! Have you found something amazing recently?

100 followers and update | A rambling post

From Pinterest, as usual

Hello everyone,

As you can probably tell from the title this is a celebratory post, because there are more than 100 of you lovely people following this blog. Woohoo!! I hit one hundred followers a while back if you count the followers on GFC and Bloglovin combined, but now that I have 100 followers on Bloglovin it seems a little more official! I would like to say a big thank you to all my readers and followers, and for all the lovely comments you leave on my posts. I love reading them and really appreciate them :) Also, doesn't this cake look like it might be the best tasting cake on the planet?

On a side note, I am thinking of starting a new series for my blog in which I will do history related posts. As some of you may know I am studying History at university so I really want to incorporate two of my passions; history and beauty/fashion and write up some fun and informative posts. Don't worry, I am not planning on boring you guys by uploading my essays on here, but I think topics such as fashion through the decades or the history of lipstick are very interesting and I am super excited to find out about these and share them with you (this is my inner geek speaking)! I actually did a post on the swinging sixties quite a while back, where I talked about the fashion and music in Britain in the 1960's, and you can read that here!

That is all for now so till my next post, bye :)

Revlon ColorBurst Lipgloss | Sizzle

As we all take out our berry toned lipsticks in autumn/winter you might be thinking right now 'hey, what is a bright orange-red lip gloss doing here?' Well I actually bought this about 6 months ago but I have hardly worn it, it somehow made it to the back of my make-up draw so I didn't see it all summer! It's the perfect gloss for an orange-red lip.

This is in the shade 'Sizzle' (great name) and I just love the packaging; it looks and feels like a high-end product which is great as it costs around £8. Even £8 pounds can seem expensive for a lip gloss, however it is definitely worth it due to the colour pay-off and shine. It's perfect to wear on its own, but over a red lipstick it just looks super glamorous which will be perfect for the festive season.

What's your go-to lipstick/lip gloss shade in the autumn/winter? Do you tend to gravitate towards darker tones or do you wear a mixture of everything? I enjoy following seasonal trends, such as wearing darker red and purple lipsticks in the colder months. However, I think it's very easy to get caught up in a little bubble, feeling that you have to follow certain trends whether they are in fashion, beauty or music, so I think everyone needs to just stop for a second and inject some personality into their style, so you can stand out from the crowd! So if you feel like wearing that coral you rocked all summer, just go for it!
Now that my mini rant is over, we can go back to the purpose of this post, which was this amazing lip gloss!  Are there any high-street lip glosses you would recommend?

The Versatile Blogger Award

Hey guys :)

I have been nominated for 'The Versatile Blogger Award' by the lovely Renny from Sincerely Renny, which means I've obviously been doing something right on this blog (I hope)! I was super excited by the Liebster Award nominations, and this award sounds even more official woop! Thanks Renny, and if you haven't done so already, check out her blog, it's great!

The rules:
  • Display the Award certificate on your blog
  • Tag the blogger who nominated you in your post
  • Nominate deserving bloggers
  • Let your nominees know you have nominated them
  • Post 7 interesting things about yourself!

So here are 7 interesting facts about me:

  1. I love celebrity fragrances as they are super fun, both the scent and bottle packaging. My everyday perfume for a while has been By Night by Christina Aguilera which is a very feminine and glam scent, and it is affordable too.
  2. I am obsessed with Pinterest, hours fly by as I scroll through pictures, from the grumpy cat starring in Disney films to slightly normal fashion inspiration pics!
  3. Elephants are my favourite animal at the moment, my favourites do change a lot but I've always had a soft spot for elephants as they look cute and slightly sad all the time. Is it weird that I like them because they look upset?
  4. I don't have a favourite colour, but looking around my room I have a lot of pink items! But my favourite colour to wear has to be black.
  5. I used to love S Club 7 back in the days, I still know all the words to Never Had a Dream Come True haha.
  6. One of my all time favourite films is Drive; the soundtrack is just amazing.
  7. I want to eat these right now:
Birthday Cake Pancakes!

And finally my nominations for The Versatile Blogger Award are:

Alexandra from Tiger Lilly
Lisa from Mascara&Mirrors
