Liebster Award 2&3

I have been nominated for the Liebster Award again!  I was nominated by Rianna from Greensapphir and Katharina from Catoufashionblog, thanks for the nominations and great questions guys . Instead of doing the 'official' Liebster award post, I will answer some of the questions I really liked and can hopefully let my readers (you guys) know a bit more about me!

What is your favourite part of being a blogger?
I love being able to share my thoughts and ideas but my favourite part is finding bloggers with similar interests and amazing blogs, and I love trying out products everyone reviews!

What is the most memorable book that you have ever read?
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. This is a hard question as I have read lots of amazing books, but the story and characters are just unforgettable.

Who is Choupette?
Haha I love this question. I had to google this one so here's a pic; yes it's Karl Lagerfeld's cat who has more than 32,000 followers on Twitter!

Is fashion art?

Yes! If you're designing a fashion item you're creating a piece of art from your imagination, and by wearing it and how you style it expresses you're creativity. And every form of expression is an art.

Would you save money just to buy a Chanel bag?
I am already saving for one! No, I lie :(  but I so would for a classic flap bag in black!

Your favourite quote?

Sorry for my lack of posts and presence on this blog recently, as I have moved back to university for my second year so I have been a very busy bee. I did have posts drafted but it didn't feel right posting them when I can't reply to comments etc. As I settle back into university life I hope to blog a lot more and about more exciting things so watch this space!

Scarf - TU, Watch - ASOS Marketplace

Jeans - New Look, Shoes - Primark
Cardigan - Primark, Dress - H&M

I declare a thumb war (a rambling post)

Sorry about the weird grass-less patch above

Have you ever bought something that you don't actually like? When you 'need' something in a certain style or colour but you can't find the exact thing your looking for, so you just settle for something you can get your hands on the easiest? I did this when I purchased the above rings and I seriously need to break out of this habit as it's not very savvy.

I've had a recent obsession and need for thumb rings (thanks Pinterest) so I've been running to the jewellery section in every shop in search of the perfect thumb ring. Obviously during my pursuit I have purchased lots of jewellery that isn't a thumb ring which explains the recent picture heavy jewellery haul posts on this blog! I went into 5 shops and had no luck so finally in River Island I found these rings that had a huge sticker on saying 'Thumb Rings' (woohoo)!! This pack of two was for £4 which is a really good price. But to be honest I'm not a big fan of jewellery that has 'Love' engraved all over it as it can look cheesy and slightly tacky but I was so desperate (slight exaggeration) to have a thumb ring I bought them anyway. At least there's a gold and a silver, I thought to myself.

When I came home and tried them on properly, without all the packaging in the way, I realised they are actually really cute and I wear them pretty much everyday now! There isn't really a moral to this story even though I have ended up loving these rings, because I've made plenty of weird purchases that I didn't 100% like when buying them and still dislike them now!

What do you do with clothes, jewellery and make up that you have fallen out of love with; do you give them away to friends/family, sell on or stash away in case your brain tells you that you actually like them?

Liebster Award

Hey guys,  so I've been nominated for the Liebster Award woohoo! I was nominated by Rinica from Subject Beauty (thanks chica), and she has a great beauty/fashion/skincare blog so check her out!
Before I go onto answering the questions I would like to thank everyone who has supported me by reading, liking and commenting on my posts, and of course for following me on Bloglovin and gfc. I appreciate all of you :)

The Rules

Answer the 10 questions your nominator has asked.
Keep the chain growing by nominating 10 of your favourite bloggers who have less than 200 followers, let them know you've done so.
Create 10 brilliant questions for your nominees to answer.

Here are my answers to the questions Rinica asked:

1. What makes you laugh?
I'm one of those people who laughs at everything and anything, even in serious and awkward situations. Funny memories make me laugh a lot and they always randomly pop into my head when I'm walking by myself somewhere. It's so embarrassing because I have this huge uncontrollable grin on my face and I probably look crazy!

2. If you could go anywhere on holiday where would it be & why?
There are soo many places I would love to visit, but New York is definitely in my top ten!

3. What is your one holy grail product that you cannot live without?
At the moment it's the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish as I use it everyday and just leaves my skin feeling super clean and soft.

4. Summer or Winter?
Winter! I love the fashion for colder months, my birthday is in December and I just love Christmas time.

5. Youtube or TV?

-slight flick-

I found this amazing picture on Pinterest and I immediately fell in love with the make-up look as it's so simple and is a look which I would realistically wear. There are thousands of make-up images on Pinterest and it's rare I come across one where I like everything, not just the lips or the eyes, and is something easily achievable by someone with basic make-up skills (me). The internet and beauty/fashion magazines are full of gorgeous make-up looks but I wouldn't try 90% of them because of the eye make-up. Applying eye-shadow just scares me due to my lack of blending skills, and I feel like it just doesn't suit me.

Coming back to this picture, I absolutely love:
  1. Her glowing skin; I think everyone dreams of having skin this bright and flawless.
  2. The bronzed cheeks, I am now officially on 'the pursuit of this bronzer'.
  3. The natural brows; I love how they're combed upwards and haven't been over filled which makes them look strong and delicate at the same time, if that makes sense.
  4. The full lashes and double flicked eyeliner.
  5. And lastly the berry stained lips, that again are very natural looking.

I think this look is perfect for the transition between summer and autumn, so I'm definitely going to attempt it and if it looks anything like this image then I will post it on here!

What I wore

T-shirt - Primark, Checked shirt - New Look, Skirt - New Look

Scarf - Primark, Shoes - Primark

I've been wanting to do an outfit post for a long time now but the pictures never look right to me, but I thought I should stop fussing and give it a go. This is what I wore this weekend so it's pretty casual. I wear a lot of maxi skirts and dresses during the warmer months as they are super comfortable, and I have worn this checked shirt to death and will continue to do so!

A few facts about me!

Hi guys,

This is my first post about me! I haven't officially introduced myself on here yet, which is weird as it is my blog. So here's a few facts and a picture of me!

  1. My name is Hafsah and I am 19 years old.
  2. I am about to start my second year of university, where I'm studying a History degree.
  3.  I actually started this blog in August 2011 but I've been writing on a more regular basis since August 2013, so two years later!
  4. I love making lists especially to-do lists and things that I have done lists, like all the books I've read or all the films I've watched. Yes, I'm weird.
  5. I am a lipstick addict, I always tell myself that I don't need any more but I somehow find myself in the make-up aisles in Boots, with my hands covered in lipstick swatches.

August Favourites 2013

Top - Bourjois Color Boost in Peach on the Beach, Middle - MUA Power Pout in Irreplaceable, Bottom - Maybelline Baby Lips - Pink Punch

I have been obsessed with pink and peach lip colours throughout the month of August because they are super summery and really compliment that summer glow! I found out about the Bourjois Color Boost lipsticks through beauty bloggers and youtubers and I instantly fell in love with the shade Peach on the Beach. It's such a gorgeous coral colour and I feel that it is the perfect peach for all skintones. Before I bought it I was worried that it would be too light, however, it looks great on.

The MUA Power Pout is a similar product and I have been wearing this like crazy recently, that's why all the writing has been rubbed off from the lipstick! It's in the shade Irreplaceable which is a dark pink/fuchsia, and is perfect for summer evenings. The shade is build-able, you can wear it like a lip balm which gives a pink tint or wear a couple of layers and it turns into a bright fuchsia lipstick! Both of these lipsticks have the right amount of gloss and feel very light on the lips.

The SunTint Bronzing Pearls by Natural Collection are a summer essential and I use this product as a blusher, because it is bronzing as well as highlighting. And it's super cheap at £1.99! I have it in the shade Sahara Sun.

The Face Form Contouring and Blush Palette by Sleek is a staple product and I use this everyday. This is in my August favourites because I absolutely love the highlighter, it has a gold shade to it and stays on the face all day. I wear it on top of my cheekbones and it really makes a big difference to my whole face, it adds a summery glow and completes the make-up look.

Lastly, this my absolute favourite summer scent by Soap & Glory. It's the Original Pink perfume with top notes of orange leaf, lemon, peach and strawberries, middle notes of mandarin, summer rose, gardenia blooms and jasmine, and a base of patchouli, warm amber and musk. It is a fruity, fresh and sweet scent and is quite strong as soon you wear it but then slowly fades into a light musky scent.

Have you tried any of these products? What do you think of them?

Anatomicals Facial Spritz Review

Hey guys <3

I can't believe it's September already, where did the summer go? Let's just hope the weather doesn't change too drastically as I'm definitely not ready to wear boots yet! So here's a review of a summery product in hope that the good weather stays.
In hot stuffy weather there is no worse feeling than your face heating up, and getting clogged due to a heavy foundation and layers of powder you have used in attempt to mattify your face. So when I received the anatomicals spray misty for me facial spritz in the July Glossybox I was very pleased, as a cooling facial spray is an absolute essential for the summer months. It contains ingredients such as peppermint, rose, lavender, aloe and witch hazel which all help to cool your face down. What I love about this product is that it works on bare skin and on top of make-up, so even if you are all made up to the nines on a hot day you can count on this facial spritz to keep your face feeling refreshed.
I have been spraying it first thing in the morning under my make-up to instantly refresh my skin for the day and I then spritz throughout the day when I feel need, from a distance of about 30 cm to ensure it doesn't interfere with my make-up.
